I had a rock go through the headlight of my Sonoma and have been searching for a replacement. Amazon has been by far the cheapest. There are not many reviews on the sets of lights but I think a set for ~$65 is pretty good but does anyone know where else I could get them cheaper?

The scrap yards around here want $60 bucks for a single used one so that is out of the question.

Thanks for the help Oppo

Amazon tells me that, no, they don't fit my 1996 BMW 328i.

Are the Amazon ones OEM-spec? Because there can be significant differences in things like the quality of the lenses, shape of the reflectors, and so-on leading to noticeably worse focusing of the beam and poorer visibility.

If you only need one anyway, spending the same money on a single correct headlight from the scrappy might be the better bet.

What about online junkyards?

The ad says "OEM Fit and Finish" so I would think they would be the same. The ones on Amazon have horizontal lines on them over the fog light area that my lights don't have so I would want them to match.

I wondered about that, seems a slightly odd phrasing that might be intended to hide something. It doesn't say OEM spec . Then again, might just be slightly clumsy English.

I suppose for sixty bucks it's not the biggest risk you'll ever take in your life if they do turn out to be crap, so you could buy them and do a comparison test for us.

Thinking of buying them because the other ones that cost more use the same clumsy English and don't look like they are any better. Trying to find more on the return policy too.

Will be documenting the change on Oppo for sure.

Yeah, it can be hard to tell with these kinds of things. Mainly what I was trying to point out is that the lens and reflector designs are important in a headlight, and it's possible they're cutting corners there even if everything looks the same on the outside.

Go for it, dude. Amazon first and third party sales have an excellent return policy, so if you get them and do not like them, well then you can send them right back.

This reminds me of the time I was driving with a friend and a crow went into the headlight lens of the company astro van. We didn't know about it and couldn't figure out why the teenage moms were eye fucking us so bad. We chose to replace the light BEFORE we took it back. Stupid sealed beam headlights. I recommend the NAPA in Wingham, On.

Certifit.

Only the finest quality Chinese headlights shipped right to your door. Quality is.... OKAY. And there's a reason why we in the business call them Sorta-fit.

But they are CHEAP.
